E-File Online, Inc., a California Corporation, was founded by a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). CPAs are trusted financial advisors who practice their profession following a strict code of professional ethics that is based upon the principles of trust, integrity and confidentiality. E-File Online, Inc. is committed to maintaining that trust, integrity and confidentiality for its clients.

The following statements set forth the types of information we collect from you and how we may use or disclose that information.

We do not disclose any information to third parties except to the extent required by law. Information we maintain includes information you submit in connection with your transactions and applications with us.

Credit Card Information

We do not disclose your credit or debit card information. We may collect your credit or debit card information, such as card number and card expiration date, when you purchase services on our site.

Tax Return Information and Security

Your tax and financial data is protected. Through, our partner, CCH INCORPORATED (CCH), we provide secure servers for storing and retrieving your tax information. E-File Online, Inc. and CCH are committed to keeping your information private and recognize the importance all customers place on the privacy and confidentiality of their information. While new technologies allow us to more efficiently serve our clients, we are committed to maintaining the rigorous privacy standards that are expected of us.

When storing and retrieving your Tax Notebook data, the CCH site uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to ensure all information remains safe and private. SSL is an established and mature Internet security standard with two dominant features: data encryption and identification of the secured web server.

Data encryption is the process of transforming legible information into a complex arrangement of illegible information. The only way to make this data legible and useful again is to decrypt it or reverse the process of encryption. In addition, to identify and encrypt data when it is sent and decrypt it when it is received, SSL uses a private/public key combination.

Lastly, CCH's Internet-based systems are protected behind firewalls and all mission critical servers are deployed in a cluster environment with high fault tolerant for fail-over.

Clients are issued unique Logon IDs and Passwords that provide them with secure access to their Tax Notebook information. Ensuring that the integrity of information is never jeopardized, and to provide adequate redundancy, all data is maintained and backed-up on a regular schedule.

CPA Advisors

The CPA Advisor is an independent Certified Public Accountant contracted by E-File Online, Inc. to serve the professional tax consulting needs of our clients. The CPA Advisor, selected by E-File Online, Inc. to assist you in your online return preparation will be provided with access to your tax return information.

The CPA Advisor chosen to assist you in your online tax return preparation follows a strict code of professional ethics monitored and enforced by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, State CPA Societies, and by the laws and regulations of state licensing authorities regarding the confidentiality of client information. All CPA Advisors are members in good standing of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and adhere to the code of professional ethics.

The CPA Advisor will access your tax information at CCH online with you thru the web conferencing services of WebEx Communications Inc. The CPA Advisor does not store or maintain your tax information following your web conference.

Certified Public Accountants are generally capable of providing other financial professional services not offered by E-File Online, Inc. such as Estate and Financial Planning. If during the course of providing Online Tax Consulting Services for E-File Online, Inc. you solicit or engage the CPA Advisor for other services, or other services are offered to you it is understood that such other services are not a service or offering of service of E-File Online, Inc. or of its web site.

Web Conferences

E-File Online, Inc. has selected WebEx Communications Inc. to provide web conferencing services to its clients and CPA Advisors.

WebEx Meetings are true switched communications; this means that any information (such as applications, chat, polling data, documents, video, voice) provided by participants within a meeting is never saved on WebEx servers and any such information can not be accessed by WebEx, or it's employees, without a Meeting password.

In certain areas WebEx uses industry-standard SSL-encryption to protect data transmissions.
In other areas WebEx uses proprietary security methods to protect data transmissions.

In order to use the web conferencing services of WebEx, clients must the download and installation of user software. Such software may be uninstalled at any time subsequent to the web conference.
